Château Calon Ségur
Château Calon-Ségur is an iconic wine estate in the Saint-Estèphe appellation on the left bank of the Bordeaux region in France. Classified as the third Grand Cru Classé in the official classification of Bordeaux wines, Calon-Ségur is renowned for its long history and the quality of its red wines.
The vines at Château Calon-Ségur flourish on Garonne gravel soils, ideal for growing the main grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. Blending these grape varieties produces powerful, complex wines.
Château Calon-Ségur wines are characterised by their robust structure, firm tannins and exceptional ageing capacity. They reveal aromas of black fruit, blackcurrant, spices and hints of tobacco. The stamp of the Saint-Estèphe terroir is evident in the distinctive minerality and depth of the wines.
An emblematic element of Château Calon-Ségur is the heart on its label, symbolising the love and passion dedicated to the wine. The estate thus embodies a rich winemaking tradition and an ongoing commitment to excellence, producing wines that captivate wine lovers the world over.
